The acronym TAP stands for Telugu Association of Perth Inc. Many people in the Perth area are now familiar with TAP and its mission of keeping Telugu culture alive in Western Australia.
TAP is dedicated to serving the cultural, social and literary needs of the Telugu-speaking community in WA — including those who have migrated from India and their children born and raised here. Our mission is to foster friendship and understanding between Telugu speakers and other regional communities, while supporting humanitarian causes.
We organise three major annual events — Sankranthi (Pongal), Vinayaka Chaviti and Bhatukamma — along with cricket matches and other events aimed at the betterment of the Telugu community in WA.
TAP is a non-profit organisation committed to preserving and promoting Telugu Samskriti (Culture), Sahithi (Literature) and Sampradayam (Traditions) among the Telugu-speaking community in the Perth area.
Since its inception in 2011, TAP has evolved into an organisation with a holistic approach, uniting Telugu-speaking individuals under one roof to address their cultural, social and literary needs.
Our executive committee is elected annually and works collaboratively with members to achieve the organisation’s goals with transparency and accountability.
